Daytime highs near 70 degrees, lows around 45 degrees, 2 degrees below normal. Rainfall averaged 0.50 of an inch, 0.25 of an inch below mean. September 28-October 4, 1992 The week began very cool, overnight lows mid, upper 30s. Temperatures rebounded, lows in 40s, highs upper 70s. Temperatures averaged upper 50s, 3-4 degrees below normal. Rainfall light and scattered, many locations received no rain. A few southern locations did receive up to 1.00 inch. September 21-27, 1992: Highest temperatures were in the low and mid 80s with lows falling into the low and mid 40s. For the week, temperatures averaged around 65 degrees. This is 2-3 degrees below normal for late September. Rainfall averaged around 1.00 inch across the State. The heaviest rain fell over Central Kentucky where over 2.00 inches were reported. September 14-20, 1992: The high temperatures were in the mid and upper 80s with lows dipping into the low and mid 50s. For the week temperatures averaged around 70 degrees F. This is near normal for the middle of September. Most of the state received rain during the week. The heaviest rain fell over southern Kentucky where some locations received 2 inches. September 7-13, 1992: The mean temperatures were around 70 degrees across the state during the week. The highs were around 82 degrees and the lows were around 59 degrees. The average rainfall was 0.40 of an inch. The western portion of Kentucky received the most rain with an average of 1.00 inch. The towns of Mayfield and Cape Girardeau received more than 2.00 inch of rain last week. August 31 - September 6, 1992: Temperatures were near normal for the first week of September. Highs were in the low to mid 80s with lows in the 60s. Rainfall was scattered across the state, but most reporting stations did have some rain. Amounts were generally from 0.25 to 1.00 in. August 24-30, 1992: Cool and wet conditions best describe Kentucky's weather this past week. Daytime highs averaged in the lower to mid 80s, some 2-4 degrees below normal. July 27 - August 2, 1992: Cool and wet weather characterized the week over Kentucky. Daytime highs averaged in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s. July 20-26, 1992: The weather was wet and muggy over Kentucky for the past week. Temperatures were near or slightly above normal with highs between 85-90 degrees most days and lows around 70. Humidities were uncomfortably high. Scattered to numerous showers occurred nearly everyday. July 6-12, 1992: Kentucky experienced near normal temperatures and below normal rainfall last week. High temperatures averaged from 85-90 degrees or a few degrees above normal. Low temperatures averaged from 65-70 degrees or a few degrees above normal. Rainfall for the week ranged from 0.30 to 0.90 in. with heaviest amounts across the north. Average weekly rainfall in Kentucky for July is near 1.00 in. June 29 - July 5, 1992: Widespread, moderate to heavy rain fell during the week. June 15-21, 1992: Average high temperatures for the week ranged from around 80 across the northeast part of the state to the upper 80s across the west. This was about 3-5 degrees below normal across the northest, but was near normal across the west. Average low temperatures ranged from around 60 degrees across the east to the mid 60s across the west, which was about 2-5 degrees above normal. The high temperature for the week was 95 at Paducah on the 18th and the lowest was 46 at Henderson on the 21st. Rainfall for the week was very heavy across central and eastern Kentucky with 1.00-3.00 inch amounts common. Most of the rain fell on the 18th. The exception was western Kentucky with amounts mostly less than 0.25 of an inch. June 8-14, 1992 Kentucky experienced near normal weather last week. High temperatures averaged near 80 degrees or about 4 degrees below normal. Low temperatures averaged in the low 60s or about 2 degrees above normal. Precipitation for the week ranged from around 0.30 in. in the west to around 0.70 in. in the east. This was near or below normal rainfall for most locations. June 1-7, 1992: The average temperature for the week ending June 7th was 67 degrees. The average highs were around 77 degrees and the average lows were around 57 degrees. The average precipitation was 1.30 in. across the State. The western part of the state received the most rain during the period with an average of 1.60 in. May 25-31, 1992: Temperatures averaged between 55-60 degrees across the state. This is around 10 degrees below normal for late May. Afternoon highs reached only into the upper 70s with overnight lows falling into the upper 30s and lower 40s. All of Kentucky received rain Friday (29th) with the heaviest amounts over Central Kentucky. Rainfall averaged between 1.00 - 3.00 inches. May 18-24, 1992: Average high temperatures for the week were mostly around 80 degrees. Average low temperatures for the week ranged from the mid 50s across Eastern Kentucky to the lower 60s across Western Kentucky. The highest temperatures for the week were 88 degrees at Buckhorn Lake on the 18th. The lowest was 46 degrees at Cumberland Gap on the 22nd. Rainfall for the week was quite significant with 1.00 to 2.00 in. amounts common across the central part of the state. Elsewhere across the state, amounts were mostly in the 0.50 to 1.00 in. range and most of the rain fell on the 20th and 21st. May 11-17, 1992: Temperatures for the past week were warm over Kentucky with readings 4-6 degrees above normal. Highs averaged in the lower 80s and lows in the mid 50s. Most locations received at least some rainfall with amounts for the week averaging 0.25 to 0.50 in. Most of the rain fell in the middle or latter part of the week. Isolated rain was reported with some locations reporting 0.80 to 0.90 in. of rain. May 4-10, 1992: The average temperatures were around 53 across Kentucky. The maximum temperatures were 63-67 and the lows averaged 40-43. The average precipitation was 0.80 in. The eastern part of the state received the most rain with an average of 1.40 in. The western part of the state received an average precipitation of 0.20 in. April 27 - May 3, 1992: Temperatures began well below normal. Overnight lows fell to mid and upper 20s, afternoon highs 50s. Temperatures warmed to 80s 1st, but averaged 1-5 degrees below normal. Rainfall early, again 2nd generally 0.25- 0.75 of an inch. April 20-26, 1992: Somewhat drier and warmer conditions than normal occurred over Kentucky this past week. Daytime highs averaged around 70 degrees, which was near normal, but lows averaged in the lower 50s, some 3-5 degrees above the mean. Rainfall averaged near 0.75 in., which was about 0.25 in. below normal. April 13-19, 1992: The week started cool but by mid-week temperatures had warmed to well above normal. High temperatures in the upper 70s in the north, to the mid-80s in the south. Low temperatures in the 30s. Overall temperatures were 6 to 12 degrees above normal. Rainfall was generally 0.50 in. below normal. Far west Kentucky recorded 1.25 in., slightly above normal, amounts over southeast were 0.10 to 0.30 of an in., or 0.70 to 0.90 of an in. below normal. April 6-12, 1992: Average temperatures were around 60 degrees. The average day-time highs were between 72-75 degrees and the average night-time lows were between 32-40 degrees. The mean precipitation was 1.70 inches during the week. March 30 - April 5 Kentucky experienced a cool week last week. High temperatures averaged in the lower 50s, which as 10 degrees below normal. Low temperatures for the week averaged in the middle 30s, which was about 5 degrees below normal. Rainfall was near normal with amounts averaging around 1.20 of an inch statewide.
