Essay Topic
1 Do not let a single opportunity for personal growth pass.
2 The root and essence of happiness and peace of mind is to desire only attachment to G-d.
3 In anything with which we find ourselves occupied, we must bring the full measure of all our G-d given capabilities to bear.
4 Focus on serving G-d, and He will take care of the material concerns
5 Seek to transform the material, the permissible, into something spiritual
6 One should consider oneself as a Child of the Supernal World
7 Consider oneself as if poor - speak constantly [to G-d] with soft words and supplications, like a poor person.
8 Continually say in one's thoughts, "When will I merit that the Light of the Shechinah will dwell with me?"
9 Each moment is a choice - uninvited thoughts constantly enter our minds. Will you choose holiness or the opposite?
10 Equanimity - intellectual and emotional detachment - is essential to peace of mind.
11 How we perceive and respond to spiritual forces which interact with our "psyche" and spirituality constantly.
12 The capabilities and talents of one person are not superior to that of another. For each of us is necessary to G-d's purpose - the revelation of His Unity within this world
13 Drawing down Hashem's Holiness through reciting appropriate Torah verses will cause a lust for a particular sin to depart.
14 You can refine yourself, and change unwanted personal characteristics through the Divine Service of learning Chassidus and through prayer
15 Doing Hashem's will with joy and constancy.
16 The importance of prayer between mid-night and sunrise
17 Never let a day go by without doing mitzvos
18 Shabbat is an eternal covenant which attests to our relationship with our Creator
19 Be very careful in the Krias Sh'ma
20 Firmly sieze the characteristic of alacrity.
21 How mitzvos instill love and fear of G-d, and open our eyes to Him
22 Every moment is an opportunity for the three-fold path to seeing G-d
