Leslie is originally from Vancouver, Canada. She studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York and the William Davis Centre for Actor's Study in Vancouver, as well as dance at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. She is married to Thomas de Schutter and has twin daughters, balancing her career in the arts with family life.
