Today at #AGU24 U.S. Naval Research Laboratory’s (NRL), Dr. Sue Chen, Meteorologist in the Mesoscale Modeling Section, spoke at the Cross-Agency Coordination for Advancing Earth System Modeling and Prediction (ESMP) Town Hall, where leading experts from multiple government agencies discussed the latest advancements in Earth system modeling. Dr. Chen spoke about the Common Model Architecture Implementation Team (CMA). The overarching goal is promote and increase interoperability between National Modeling Centers allowing for better use of resources and better inter-comparisons of new capabilities. ESMP Achievements & Milestones: * Common Model Architecture: Significant progress has been made in developing a unified framework for Earth system models, enhancing interoperability and collaboration. * Coupled Global Modeling: Scientists are pushing the boundaries of coupled modeling, exploring complex interactions between Earth's systems to improve prediction accuracy. * High-Performance Computing: Leveraging cutting-edge HPC technologies to tackle increasingly complex climate simulations.
