“These are really extreme circumstances to be living in, and to be expecting myself to have a normal everyday budget as if I’m not existing in some very uncertain and emotionally triggering times, that would be unfair to myself,” Bailey said.

"It has made me in some ways more hopeful because the fact that it went from not existing at all to existing means that we can get it back on its feet," she said.

That has caused disruptions for customers of Synapse’s partners, leading to accounts being frozen or showing funds not existing at all.

“I just wanted to say, given the climate in our country right now, there is a lot of energy being put toward your community not existing. I truly believe that all of that is coming from a place of fear,” Theron told the competitors.

However, most people will not be affected by the ban immediately, as the majority of drivers buy vehicles second hand and only sales of new petrol and diesel models would be affected - not existing ones.
