Jeganathan CHOCKALINGAM
Hi,
I have been working in the area of RS & GIS since 1993. I have worked/associated with many leading institutions of India and abroad such as Regional Remote Sensing Centre (RRSSC-D, 1993-1996), Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS, since 1996), ITC-Enschede-Netherlands (since 1996), University of Southampton (UoS, since 2008) and currently at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT, Sep,2011 onwards).
I worked with many leading RS-GIS scientists of ISRO, NASA, ESA and UoS.
My research interests include downscaling satellite remote sensing derivatives using two-point and multi-point geostatistical techniques; Phenology Modelling using satellite Vegetation Vigour; Landscape Modelling and Spatially Quantifiying the qualitative ground/environment processes for better prediction/modelling/planning and decision making purposes.
I am a well versed geo-spatial programmer. Possess practical experience in programming using ArcObjects, VBA in ARCMAP and in C, C++. I have worked with various RS & GIS leading packages, operating systems and programming languages.
At present i am working as Professor at the Department of Remote Sensing, Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.
I received Klaas Jan Beek award for the Best Research of 2003 from ITC, Enschede, The Netherlands. Recently, i was felicitated with Indian National Geospatial Award in 2015.
Thanks for your Interest. I am open for any good research collaboration.
