21K views · 3K reactions | How to: Watercolour Forget-Me-Nots You need a thin brush for these flowers. I’m using a @dalerrowney1783 rigger brush. It has a nice long thing brush head. Start by painting 5 small petals in pale blue. Paint a little collection of them on your paper in different sizes. When the flowers are almost completely dry, tap a darker blue around the centre of the flower, being careful to leave a little space in the very middle. Whilst your flowers are drying, connect them together with some thin and twisty green vines and leaves. To finish your flowers off, tap some yellow into that little space you left in the middle. And there you have your pretty little forget-me-not flowers. Remember to save this video so that you can rewatch it and paint along! First, we're going to draw it with a pen and you're like, I can't draw. Well, this is a continuous line drawing. So, you just keep drawing it continuously. I start with the petals which are down. They come down. They're downy petals and I do one row of those and then, without picking up the pen, I come back over them a second time and that's going to kind of like cover up any little mistakes and it makes it look fancy even though it's not. I did pick up the pen to do the other flowers and then, to add the stems and the leaves but the stems and the leaves I did all in one line. Okay, you know what would be cute? For the B, I did an oval for the head and added the eye and then, another oval for the body with some lines for the stripes and circles for the wings. Had to have a friend. This is already super cute. You can just keep the watercolor simple because you've already got the ink there, you can just do a wash of color. I chose purple and pink. You can do whatever colors you want and then, a little yellow and orange in the center and I did the same thing on the leaves, just a bunch of green and some blue. I just did the B in blue and yellow and added a little bit of a background. If you're a little intimidated by watercolor, start with pen. This is it. This is the to start.

I'm using acrylic paint and a canvas. I want a turquoise background but this is a little dark so I'm going to lighten it up with some white. It's mostly gray. We're going to paint in a vase but we're not looking for it to be perfect. It's going to have character. This can be any shape you want. Find something pokey like a stick. Sometimes I paint with this. You could also use the end of a paint brush and while it's still wet, make a design on your pot. I didn't space them evenly. You know why? It's more interesting this way. Darken in the center to give it depth. You want a little brush and you want to hold it at the very oops. It's going to be fine. Very thin paint and hold it at the end very lightly. You want these to be wonky. Creepy. It's going to be okay. Now pick the colors you like. I'm going to go with some pinks. We're going to see where it goes. Move to a bigger brush. Now just start doing little swoops. These are expressive not precise. I twist my brush and make them all different. Leave some of the branches showing. I'm going to add in a little bit of yellow but I'm going to keep it pretty subtle. Tiny little dots. Same thing with the green. Just a little. It is exceptionally for me to not do too much. I'm going to take my background color that I lightened up before and use it straight from the tube to make the shadow. Once I get the shadow, I add a couple little fallen pebbles. There's so much texture in this one. Perfectly imperfect. You can do it.

It might be a bubble by the end. Three paper plates. Watercolor paints. The first one I'm going to do in rainbow colors. The uncoated paper plates do work better for this. Very satisfying. I'm going to do these. There's an airplane. Oh, and a bug. One in yellow, one orange. Cross this high. I already put peanuts out. They're probably gone already. Once they're dry, you're going to cut slits around the outside of the rainbow one. Something like that. Cut the inside circles out of the orange and the yellow. Hang on to this. I cut a little slice off the top of the yellow one and you're going to want to hang on to that. Then, I folded the orange one and I cut an ear shape out. Then, you have two. Have you figured out what this is going to be? Pizza base. It's a lion. I did an upside down triangle for the nose and then, the sort of standard animal mouth and two dots for the eyes and a couple little freckles. Then, I cut a little chunk out to be the top of the nose and some water cheeks. We're not done. Remember this piece and this piece, the body and the tail. Gotta do it. I cut a little chunk out of the orange and then just did more little slices to make the fuzzy part of the tail and then, used a glue stick and then, I folded over the yellow part and I cut out two half circles for the feet. Your kids will love this one. Not lying. My brain is melted. I'm going inside now. Bye.
