The rope straight-arm pulldown trains the lats through a long range of motion, and is helpful for people who have trouble feeling their backs work on conventional pulldown exercises. Cable movements provide constant tension throughout the entire movement. Using cables allows you to work both the concentric and eccentric portions of the exercise. More tension equals more muscle activation.

- overhand cable row, the overhand being more upper back focused rather than lats, although lats are used in both underhand and overhand grips 
- cable lat pushdown, targeting mainly the lats as long as you keep your arms straight and don’t bend them into a Tricep movement 
- single arm row, good for the whole back singular sided 
- cable reverse flys, I particularly like these for the mid and lower traps 

10-12 reps 3 sets of exercises each movement
