This is my favorite way of turning those slices into a useful garland that will last for years. I used a cotton string to create the chain by looping around the thickness of the dried rind, which is usually the strongest part of the slice. I left enough room in between each slice that they hang freely without overlapping. I do not recommend the other method of tying separate pieces of string in between each slice, because that puts too much pressure on the slices to hold the entire garland together. Creating the orange garland as a separate piece from the rest of my decorations allowed me to work them into green garlan Too Much Pressure, Green Garland, Wooden Bead Garland, Dried Oranges, Orange Garland, Bead Garland, Cotton String, Maximalism, Orange Slices

Wendy on Instagram: "Let’s make a classic citrus garland together! Preheat your oven to 250F Slice you oranges in 1cm slices. Be sure to slice evenly Lay your orange slices on a parchment covered baking sheet And bake for 2 hours, flipping your orange slices every 30 minutes At the two hour mark, check at 15 minute intervals for another hour Use floral wire to pierce through the dried orange slices and secure them on a piece of twine I like to customize it with acorns, cinnamon sticks and cedar branches. Hang them by the window to enjoy the warm glow of your creation! Once dried, store them in a Ziplock bag or an airtight container and use them in the years to come.
