This was an ancient town in southern Judah (Joshua 15:30).

It is said to be possibly the same as Bethul (Joshua 19:4) and Bethuel (1 Chronicles 4:30).

It is said that Chesil may have been located at Al-Khalasa (aka Khelasa, Haluza, Elusa and al-Khalūṣ), Israel)
