The Hebrew word is a verb meaning to serve, minister, assist or attend—as does a servant, minister, assistant or attendant.

Servitor is an old English word whose first known use is in the 14th century. In the Bible, it is used only in the King James version of 2 Kings 4:43 (NKJV and RKJB: “servant”) and seems to refer to the prophet Elisha’s assistant, Gehazi.

The Hebrew word there translated “servitor” is elsewhere rendered “minister” or “servant” in the King James Bible (Exodus 24:13; 33:11).
