Ahmed Khairadeen Ali received his bachelor's in Architecture Engineering at the University of Duhok, Iraq in 2011 in top second and M.Sc degree in digital design and fabrication from Texas Tech University, the USA in 2016 under Fulbright Scholarship. He received a Ph.D. degree in Robotics and AI in Architecture from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea under the KGSP scholarship.
Ahmed is currently AI Research Designer at Haenglim Architects in Seoul, South Korea. His research interests in artificial intelligence and robotics involvement in the architecture design and construction to enable machines to intelligently interact with the physical works and improve current architecture best practice. He was the recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship in 2014 and the Korean Government Scholarship in 2017. He also received honorary citizenship of Nonsan city, South Korea. Finally, he is “the American Association of Architects” (AIA) member since 2020.
Ahmed is the founder of the iFOBOT platform. The iFOBOT is dedicated to exploring Robotic and computational power In the architecture design and fabrication stage. Haenglim Architects is one of the leading companies that has adopted advanced technologies in their design process. This project consists of six main parts: hot wire cutting, CNC milling, ai decision making, automation in fabrication, and material science. The main goal of this program is to involve robots in the early design stage, prefabrication, and In the construction stage with more advanced techniques and the power of AI. Currently, iFOBOT was successful in proposing a scenario of applying robot arm technologies in facade assembly in the construction site with a successful virtual test. A real case scenario is now being prepared to test iFOBOT. Finally, he is fluent in Arabic, Kurdish, English, and Korean languages.
