Oheka Castle, Huntington, NY: Shannon & Dan {Wedding}

There is a universal truth acknowledged about Dan, nothing seems to stress him out. Nothing. Finals week in college, job interviews, even having his car broken into and his GPS stolen - none of it seems to ruffle Dan in any way. In fact, he's cool as a cucumber just about 99% of the time. So what's that one percent that does stress him out? That would be the Yankees. Put on a game where the Yankees are losing and all of sudden calm, cool, collected Dan is pacing around the room, unable to relax. Knowing Dan as well as she does, Shannon figured there was little chance that he would be emotional during the ceremony. Especially since there was a Yankee game on that morning. Little did she know that in a hotel room across town, something incredible was happening. With the game on in the background, surrounded by his closest guys, Dan was pacing around the room. And everyone was confused. The Yankees were winning. Even more, it was the day that Jeter hit his 3,000th home run. And while he did partake in the celebration of that historic milestone for his beloved team, Dan's nerves were not calmed. His friends could hardly believe their eyes. They already knew that Dan was madly in love with Shannon but that morning they got more proof than they would ever need that she was, in fact, the single most important thing in his life. Even more important than the Yankees. And with Dan, that's really saying something. When the church doors opened and Dan saw Shannon for the first time that day, suddenly his nerves were calmed. Seeing Shannon was all he needed. And when her father shook his hand and placed Shannon's hand into his, he couldn't help but get emotional. Shannon looked into his eyes and saw what she never thought she would - Dan with tears in his eyes as they were about to exchange their vows. She couldn't think of a time when she had seen Dan with tears in his eyes ever before - even after a terrible loss by the Yankees. She knew, without him saying a word, that Dan loved her more than anything else in this world. And that was really saying something.
