תיאור: נמל אילת הישן 1951-1956
הערות: בראשית שנות ה-50 החלו אוניות להגיע לאילת. במקום לא היו מתקני עגינה מתאימים והסחורות נפרקו בלב ים. בשנת 1955 החלה הקמתו של הנמל הראשון ("הישן"),ששימש כנמל הראשי של אילת במשך שנים ספורות בלבד. במבצע קדש (1956) השתלטה ישראל על מיצרי טיראן, ופתחה אותם לתנועת אוניות ישראליות לאסיה, לאפריקה ולמזרח הרחוק. היקף הפעילות בנמל הישן גדל והוא לא התאים לטפל בכמות המטענים הגדולה. בראשית שנות ה-60 הוחלה בניית נמל חדש, מדרום לנמל הישן.
