Blasts on peripheral blood smear (PBS) Microscopy of leukemic patient blood

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A peripheral blood smear (PBS) microscopy examination of a leukemic patient's blood may reveal the presence of abnormal cells called "blasts." Blasts are immature white blood cells that have not yet fully developed into their mature forms. The presence of an increased number of blasts in the peripheral blood is a hallmark of leukemia, particularly acute leukemias.
