Par ce diptyque, où se côtoient le souvenir et les leçons de l’Histoire, l’auteur nous invite à revisiter ce qui fut l’amorce de son aventure littéraire. Dans le premier récit, il dénonce l’ignominie d’un individu peu scrupuleux. Il révèle les manigances de celui qui, trahissant la confiance de ses proches, fit chavirer leur bonheur. Le second, dans un autre domaine, évoque l’éternelle question que l’on se pose sur la capacité pour d’anciens chefs d’État d’apporter des solutions aux problèmes du monde qui est le nôtre.
