Orientation Set Path to Commencement for Quaye
As Q Quaye prepared to graduate on May 15, they could trace what had passed — and what was yet to come — to their first week at Carnegie Mellon University. Four years ago, as an undecided, first-year student, Quaye couldn't have known just how much CMU's Orientation would impact the rest of their life.

Klatzky Elected into National Academy of Science
Roberta Klatzky, the Charles J. Queenan, Jr. University Professor of Psychology, has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences. She is an expert in cognition whose research examines the relationships between human perception and action, with a focus on touch.

Werner Receives Elliott Dunlap Smith Teaching Award
Tom Werner, associate teaching professor in philosophy, has received the 2022 Elliott Dunlap Smith Award for Distinguished Teaching and Educational Service in the Dietrich College.  [I’m] helping prepare future generations to cope with the world, and I am gratified that I’ve been recognized [for this work],” he said.

Congratulations, Graduates!
While Dietrich College conferred 390 undergraduate degrees, 113 master’s degrees and 39 doctorates this year, the college also welcomed and celebrated with the graduates of the classes of 2020 and 2021. In addition, 11 Science and Humanities Scholars received undergraduate degrees from the college.
