I painted the walls and ceiling in a mat sheen and the trim and satin sheen, which is usually my go-to for sheens. HOWEVER, I quickly realized that dark paint scuffs easily. Hang a picture, scuff marks, change the curtains, scuff marks. So after living with this for almost a year, which it still looks really good, BTW, with only some chips on the door trim, here is what I would recommend for a black/dark paint color: ✨Ceiling - always flat sheen no matter the color UNLESS you have some architectural details that you’re trying to draw the eye to ✨Walls - eggshell in bedrooms/living rooms, satin/semi-gloss in kitchens/bathrooms ✨Trim - Semi-gloss There are always acceptions.
