Take Care is the upcoming second studio album by Canadian rapper Drake.

Background and Development

On November 17, 2010, Drake revealed the title of his next studio album to be Take Care.[1] Birdman stated that Drake's second studio album will be released around March–April 2011.[2] Drake is working with underground producer 9th Wonder[3] and now seeking beats from DJ Premier[4] for his sophomore album. In a recent interview, Rapper/Producer Q-Tip said that he's "cheffing up some stuff for him right now".[5] It is unclear whether the tracks Q-Tip have produced will be on Take Care. Boi-1da, who worked on Thank Me Later, has been also working on Take Care.[6] On January 14, 2011 in an interview Drake mentioned that he would be working with Jamie Smith from The xx and Florence and the Machine. [7] Drake stated that he desired to work with Beyoncé, André 3000, Kid Cudi, Justin Timberlake, and Kanye West on Take Care.

In comparison to his debut album, Drake told BBC Radio 1 that Thank Me Later was a rushed album, stating, "I didn’t get to take the time that I wanted to on that record. I rushed a lot of the songs and sonically I didn’t get to sit with the record and say, 'OK, well maybe I should change this verse.' "Once it was done, it was done. That’s why my new album is called Take Care because I get to take my time this go-round." [8] . In January 2011, producer Noah "40" Shebib stated he was in the studio with Drake and T-Pain working on a record for the album. The record is also produced by T-Minus.[9]
