Euro 2008 venues table idea

Austria Euro2004 bid

How can Austria bid for euro 2004 if they were announced in 2002 that they will organize euro 2008? — Well, since the decision is made five to six years ahead of time, that one should be self-evident. dorftrottel (talk) 15:49, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Um, I'm not sure what you mean. Had Austria's bid for 2004 been successful as the winner was announced in on 12 October 1999, they wouldn't have put up a bid for 2008. Their bid was not successful, so they decided to to go ahead and prepare another bid, for 2008, the winner of which was announced on 12 December 2002, and therefore also before Euro 2004 took place (the host of which had in turn been decided upon before Euro 2000 took place). dorftrottel (talk) 01:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
