::Um, I'm not sure what you mean. Had Austria's bid for 2004 been successful as the winner was announced in on 12 October 1999, they wouldn't have put up a bid for 2008. Their bid was not successful, so they decided to to go ahead and prepare another bid, for 2008, the winner of which was announced on 12 December 2002, and therefore also before Euro 2004 took place (the host of which had in turn been decided upon before Euro 2000 took place). [[User:Dorftrottel#DT|dorftrottel]] ([[User talk:Dorftrottel|talk]]) 01:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Dude, seriously? I may have inadvertently offended you, but throwing your toys out of your pram won't help things one bit. – PeeJay 10:43, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's no point in discussing the issue. dorftrottel (talk) 11:03, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There's always a point to discussing an issue. If there wasn't a point, it wouldn't be an issue, but it obviously is an issue so there must be a point. – PeeJay 11:05, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The issue is that imho I improved those tables. You reverted, calling my variants 'ugly' and 'weird'. That's what I mean by 'no point'. Let's leave it at that. dorftrottel (talk) 11:19, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, fair enough. Evidently I could have chosen my words better, as I didn't mean any personal offence to you. We obviously just have differing opinions on style. On a similar note, I think you may have gone a bit over the top with the comments you made on my talk page. – PeeJay 13:26, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re:anxiety

yeah, i know the feeling. no luck on a head set, alas. i've been relying on a neighbor's wireless and the signal isn't all that great... also, i'd feel like an idiot talking about WP on a public terminal. when my situation improves i'll let you know. hope all is well. Ameriquedialectics 17:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

:D — feel like an idiot talking about WP on a public terminal — echo that. I'd say I'd rather publicly talk about my favourite porn sites. all is well, thanks. otoh, most people think that way before they're being diagnosed with inoperably metastasised small cell cancer. ahem. dorftrottel (talk) 00:08, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You

Thank you for the comments you left on my RFA. In response to the signbook, I'd like to point you to this diff [1]. That is one of the reasons I keep it. I don't keep it to get a whole lot of signatures. I keep it to see all of the wonderful editors I have had contact with. Thanks again. :) <3 Tinkleheimer TALK!! 21:32, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think Jimbo's taste and judgement can be fully trusted on all occasions. dorftrottel (talk) 23:56, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Euro 2008 venues table idea

How about this? I've made it so that the stadium name and the capacity are grouped together, separate from the city name and the image of the stadium. – PeeJay 14:21, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I actually hadn't noticed, tbh. I've implemented the above venues table now. – PeeJay 21:05, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Thanks for taking the time to contribute, and of course, thanks for voting to support :). Your contribution was the best kind; you accept the userbox, and that it might be considered a problem, but focus on my contributions regardless :). I'll apply again in 4-6 months, so i'll hopefully see you then :). Ironholds 21:36, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: keeping score

Normally I would agree with you, but enforcing that would take too much effort. We'd spend more time reverting edits than doing anything else, so my philosophy on this is "If you can't beat them, join them". – PeeJay 16:25, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

::D Good point. dorftrottel (talk) 01:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Austria Euro2004 bid

How can Austria bid for euro 2004 if they were announced in 2002 that they will organize euro 2008? — Well, since the decision is made five to six years ahead of time, that one should be self-evident. dorftrottel (talk) 15:49, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"that one should be self-evident" no it is not, if Austria would have won then how would have organized EURO 2008 ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cornelinho (talkcontribs) 16:59, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
