Hi. It looks likely to me that there is sockpuppetry going on at ZAP (motor company). I left a note on Jiachunhui's talk page, but then I got to thinking that the evidence might be considered to be pretty thin. Should I delete my comment? Or should I escalate this? Thanks. The ZAP insiders are editing fast and furious these days. I'm having a heckuva time massaging their insertions into encyclopedic format. If you have a chance, can you take a look and let me know if I left too much of their language in? Thanks. Ebikeguy (talk) 22:51, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One of the insiders messed up your infobox formatting. I can try to fix it, but I have not worked with infoboxes much. You might be able to fix it in a few key strokes. Ebikeguy (talk) 17:51, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I edited the intro for NPOV. Ebikeguy (talk) 19:40, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your logic on the company name works for me, and your recent edits are great and much appreciated. Ebikeguy (talk) 19:35, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Curling

I added a reference from the official Olympics website which clearly states that curling is a game, not a sport. Can you stop vandalizing the page by reverting my edit? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spacemoney (talkcontribs) 20:46, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well if there's a contradiction on the site, why does 'sport' get to stay over 'game'? There's already been a discussion, and no sources. There's a definition of sport on the Wikipedia sport page, which curling doesn't fit.

But whatever, I'm not going to bother wasting my time arguing anymore, you might as well lock the page and keep the biased opinions in there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spacemoney (talkcontribs) 17:17, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jemima's Witnesses

Hey its been a long time since I've tried to add this page. I would really like it to appear on Wikipedia, but I guess I don't understand what I need to do or change to make this possible. Could you please explain the issues with creating a page for Jemima's Witnesses? I am going to post the link to our website so you can see for yourself, and if you visit the Facebook group listed here: http://sites.google.com/site/jemimaspeople you will see we have a small but growing following of people. Thanks for any help you can provide I just am very confused about the previous deletions of my entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dentalicious (talkcontribs) 07:08, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Galeano

Hi, yesterday I was looking for the article of Eduardo Galeano. I was not sure about his first name, so I searched Galeano and got this page. Then I tried to create a disambiguation page about it (please keep in mind that it would be a very expandable page because there are more pages here sharing that surname) but I was branded "unauthorized" (because I was editing as an IP, I guess). I spent some minutes following the so called "wizard" to eventually find it was useless (maybe I was just inept but I cannot avoid having the feeling it was otherwise). Then I saw I could leave a message in the talk page to request its creation and now I see you deleted it. The reason you gave in the summary (G8: Talk page of a deleted or non-existent page) makes me think you did not read the content of what I wrote, otherwise I find it quite puzzling and I would appreciate further explanation because I am not sure about why the deletion took place. Should I have created an account and edited the page with the disambiguation of those (or more) Galeanos, would have also been deleted? I ask this to avoid working innecessarily in case your answer is "yes". If "Galeano (disambiguation)" would not be deleted, would you undelete "Talk:Galeano (disambiguation)"?. Regards. --13:11, 2 August 2010 (UTC)~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.36.11.75 (talk)

If you had created an account, you wouldn't have had the problem. Users editing under an IP can not create new pages as you had properly guessed, though apparently you get an "authorized" wording instead of something a little more friendly. I did miss your comment entirely. I had blindly deleted the talk page without carefully reading it. My apologies for that. I went ahead and changed Galeano to your disambiguation request instead of creating an entirely new article and added in four additional names. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 16:33, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Gogo Dodo. Now I see that, as an IP, I probably could have done the same thing as you did, because it seems I can edit in Galeano with no problem but unfortunately that option did not occurred to me then. In order to keep certain history integrity probably it would be a good idea to restore the deleted edition of "Talk:Galeano (disambiguation)" and move it into "Talk:Galeano". Regards. -- 83.36.11.75 (talk) 22:31, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. Done. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 23:13, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot, Gogo Dodo. And this short explanation is a great idea, too. Great job. --- 83.36.11.75 (talk) 23:29, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Auburn (singer)

I'm a hangon patroller, but not a sysop. After you protected Auburn (singer) someone recreated the article as Auburn(singer). It was subsequently A7 and (by me) G4 speedy nominated, but I've now confirmed that the artist in question has in fact hit the US top 100 charts (proof here), thus coming in under rule #2 at WP:BAND. I've declined both the speedy nominations and was in the process of moving it to Auburn (singer) when I discovered that you'd protected that page. Now that I know that the old article was protected, I don't like what happened (and wonder if the page creator might not be a sock to avoid the page protection), but on the basis of judging content, not editors, it appears to me that the article ought now to survive speedy deletion albeit not as Auburn(singer). Can I grit my teeth and respectfully request that you lift the protection of Auburn (singer) and move Auburn(singer) there? Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 20:26, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, no problem. All done. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:21, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kindly take a quick look at his page; do you think you should RevDel the phone number he posted? I'll remove it Seems someone else got there first, but I don't think that's a good thing to be posting (if you're wondering how I saw this, I'm the one who tagged the page the first time, and it showed up bold in the recent changes). Article: Taylor Long and recently deleted article

Hi,

I recently created an article under the title "Taylor long" with a lowercase "L".. when I noticed this I wanted the article deleted so I cleared the text and you responded with a quick delete.. very quickly. I shortly created a new article under the Title "Taylor Long" with the uppercase "L" in the last name. Now when I search in google under the name, the old article comes up in google search and when I click the link it says it's been deleted. How can I eliminate that article or existence of a prior article on that page completely from google? I would like only my new page to show up in searches, but so far the only way to access the "Taylor Long" page is by searching it in Wikipedia itself.

Please help?

Thanks! Taylor Long

Absolute upsetting

Why wouldn't you CSD Best tourist destinations of pakistan? Sure, it's not a WP:CSD reason, but what's the point of having {{delete}} then? This is obvious WP:SNOW here and pure POV/ESSAY/OR rubbish. Most admins would delete this on sight. Why won't you? (I am watching this page, so please reply here.)Timneu22 · talk 22:05, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I declined both CSDs because of exactly the reason you stated: WP:OR and WP:ESSAY are not valid CSD criteria. I declined the advertisement CSD tag because it is not blatant advertising either. While I agree that the AfD is likely to be closed as delete and probably even closed as WP:SNOW, trying to close the AfD early through CSD tagging will not work. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 22:11, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's bad adminship. My gosh, use WP:IAR for something obvious like this. Why are you guys so inconsistent? What's the point of having a {{delete}} template if it cannot be used? I have brought this to the attention of WT:CSD, again. These types of nonsense articles are getting tiring. — Timneu22 · talk 22:13, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to bring up my actions on WP:AN then. If you get the CSD criteria to include WP:ESSAY and WP:OR, then I would be happy to delete it. But until then, I won't be deleting it. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 22:16, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You didn't do anything wrong, so don't badger me with WP:AN. I can see by that statement that you take everything by the book. I guess you don't have the guts to use WP:IAR on something is horribly offensive to the encyclopedia's quality as this article. That's a shame. No replies needed, I'm no longer watching this page. — Timneu22 · talk 22:18, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're the one who called me a bad admin. And if you think I'm all by the book, well, that's your opinion, not mine. Calling the article "horribly offensive" is very over the top. I've seen "horribly offensive" and this isn't it. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 22:19, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well another admin got this right, deleting it about 19 minutes after you declined it (twice). They closed it as "unsalvageably unencyclopedic promotional essay". Imagine that. — Timneu22 · talk 10:24, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:STICK, but if you insist, WP:ANI is that way. Feel free to bring up my action (or lack of action) in this case. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:32, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please check out this thread on my talk page. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 06:15, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He wanted his version of the article rather bad, but he just got blocked after attempting to create another fork of the article at SM City S a n P a b l o. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:18, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can I punt this one in your direction? I try to stay out of the back offices of WP, so I can't really offer much more help than I already have, but this might be of concern to TPTB and I'd like to see it handled by somebody better informed than me. If you'd rather not, which I understand, I'll tap somebody else. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 17:07, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There was an OTRS ticket filed about the article, so I defer to the OTRS agent. The article has been blanked pending review. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:34, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I missed that edit. Thanks anyway. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 19:17, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:59, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
