Hi. Saw you added yourself to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Rhode_Island/Members with a note about East Providence. I've been working on a couple articles you may find interesting. One is about the pass through the GAN process now, Green Jacket Shoal. The other I just started with some basic information, partially drawn from what I learned while writing the other article: Bold Point. The latter could use some extra attention. For Green Jacket Shoal, perhaps you can help me find a source that clearly states which neighborhood of East Providence it's in. I found a source that said Riverside, but I find that dubious. There's Watchemoket, but I don't think that's an "official" neighborhood/village (and there's no Wikipedia article about it, though that may just be a "not yet"). &mdash; <samp><span style="font-size:90%;letter-spacing:1px;text-shadow:0px -1px 0px Indigo;">Rhododendrites</span> talk</samp> \\ 01:32, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

: I can definitely tell you that it is NOT in Riverside. It is in the Watchemoket area, but as you said that's not an official village. I think it would be best categorized as being in the center of the city, essentially East Providence proper. It is in the East Providence postal code (Riverside and Rumford have their own) and there's no CDP covering that area. I'll be honest and say I'm not very familiar places and landmarks, I'm more on the political and government side of things. But I do have a small group coming together what will be focused on East Providence, so hopefully we can collectively be of help. - JasonJD48 (talk) 07:11, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading :File:WHSveil.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

::Thanks. Yeah, the key thing is finding a source to verify. Best I saw was the Watchemoket Square Day website, which had a quote from someone at the EP Historical Society connecting Bold Point to Watchemoket. Not really ideal, though, and I couldn't find the original publication, if one exists, for that quote.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. I tend to go the other way with RI topics, editing more on interesting bits of history, landmarks, culture, etc. more than government. (I have a connection to RI, but don't live there). So e.g. Rhode Island banking crisis, Bonded Vault heist, Central Landfill, etc.
Anyway, let me know if I can be of help when your group gets going. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 02:00, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.
