Summary

Description
English: Orpiment
Locality: El'brusskiy (Elbrusskii) Arsenic mine, Elbrus, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Northern Caucasus Region, Russia (Locality at mindat.org)
Size: miniature, 5.8 x 3.5 x 1.7 cm
Orpiment
One of the finest specimens of this material I have seen, because it has unusual aesthetics in the crystals that formed isolated sprays showing the matrix in between—creating a bit of contrast. Usually, these form thick carpets of solid growth, without individual sprays. These specimens have the top quality color saturation for the find.
