Summary

Description
English: This image from a West Point atlas has been rotated so north is at the top, and TwoScarsUp has added more labels to make it easier to read. (Note that the "North arrow" is not perfectly straight "up"—this is correct.) It shows the positions of the camps of the Union army on the Shiloh battlefield on April 5, 1862. The Battle of Shiloh, in the American Civil War, began on the next day.
