Career

[edit]

Jackie Fox began her career in RTÉ News as an intern on RTÉ Radio One's 'News at One' programme in 2012. Following the placement, she worked as a reporter across a number of Radio One programmes including Ireland's most listened to radio show 'Morning Ireland' and 'Today with Sean O'Rourke'. She was also a newsreader on RTÉ 2FM.

Fox currently works as a multimedia journalist for RTÉ News. She was part of the Foreign Desk unit from 2018 to 2023, where she reported from Ethiopia on China's influence on the country, women's rights in Saudi Arabia and the effects of climate change in the Caribbean and the Seychelles. She has been awarded the Simon Cumbers Media Fund three times.

In August 2019, Irish-Franco teenager Nora Quoirin went missing from the Dusun Rainsforest Resort Malaysia. Fox was the only Irish journalist on the scene for more than a week, where she reported on the daily efforts to find the 15-year-old and ultimately the tragic finding of her body. [1]

Since March 2020, Fox has been presenting and producing RTÉ's US politics podcast 'States of Mind' which has featured prominent US politicians and commentators from both sides of the political aisle. It was one of the most listened-to podcasts in 2020 when she co-presented with then Washington Correspondent, Brian O'Donovan. Series 3 with RTÉ's current Washington Correspondent, Sean Whelan launched in July 2024.
