Are there any opinion polls for the upcoming Referendum?
[edit]Was expecting a graph as seen in most Wikipedia Referendum Articles which shows opinion polls on the upcoming referendum. However I was surprised to not see any such tables or graphs especially this close to the referendum. Is this due to a lack of opinion polls available? OguHunter (talk) 10:14, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
Working live results page
[edit]The official page is not working. There are fresh results coming in on this link: [1] -- Cimon Avaro; on a pogostick. (talk) 08:35, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
Confusing table
[edit]The results table seems quite confusing to me, especially with the percentages, as there's no consistent denominator for the percentages.
The bolded "Total votes" labeled as 100% could be misleading, as it suggests that all the percentages in the table are based on this total number. However, the percentages for "Yes" and "No" are actually derived from the valid votes only, not the total that includes invalid or blank votes. Worse, the percentage in the "Registered voters" line is actually flipped, where the 51.68% reflects (votes / registered voters), not the other way around, which is quite confusing. This mismatch between the presentation and the actual calculations makes it harder to interpret the data correctly. Clearer separation and labeling might be beneficial.

Results incorrect / been changed
[edit]In the German article, we found out that there have been changes by the electoral commission in Chișinău, Rîșcani, and the total. Also the numbers in the areas Left Bank of the Dniester and Taraclia were not exactly as the electoral office told which didn't affect the new results. Unfortunately, I don't have time at the moment. You're welcome to copy the numbers and percentages from de:Referendum über die Mitgliedschaft der Republik Moldau in der Europäischen Union 2024#Ergebnis nach Kreisen. --Gnurpsnewoel (talk) 16:43, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

The final referendum results have been published: https://a.cec.md/ro/cec-a-totalizat-rezultatele-referendumului-republican-constitutional-din-20-2781_111818.html
1 532 264 ballots received, 50,72% turnout
Yes 749 719 votes (50.35%), No 739 155 votes (49.65%) The summary table and the first table in the results section can be reflected to update this.
The table with the breakdown by region also needs to be revised, bceause some numbers have changed as the official results came in (they probably counted something wrong initially). The updated results can be consulted here: https://pv.cec.md/cec-template-referendum-results.html
For example, the % yes vote in Transnistria is now 31.02%, down from 37.44%; Chișinău is 56.00% yes instead of 55.98; stations abroad are 76.79% yes instead of 76.96; Rîșcani changed to 31.38% from 32.11%. Hoinar-in-lume (talk) 19:55, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- I've updated the main table, but the regional results still require updating. Also, what was the final number of registered voters, as that is not mentioned in the page linked above. Cheers, Number 57 01:45, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- The final results are available in this Excel sheet from the CEC: https://a.cec.md/ro/rezultatele-referendumului-republican-constitutional-17041.html
- Based on columns D2 and E2, the total number of registered voters should be 2,711,615 (base lists) + 309,199 (supplementary lists) = 3,020,814. This seems to be the number used to calculate the 50.72% turnout.
- I would update the regional table myself, but the article is protected and for some reason I can't, even though I have a user account. Hoinar-in-lume (talk) 20:41, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
Allegations that the Moldovan government purposely denied Moldovans living in Russia the possibility to vote.
[edit]Russia is the country to which Moldovans emigrate the most by far. Estimates put the number of Moldovans living Russia between 200000 and over 500000. Despite this fact only two voting stations were available for Moldovan citizens to vote in Russia, both in Moscow. A very low number when compared to the six voting stations opened in Portugal for only about 15000 people. This raised questions to what the outcome of the referendum and elections would be if the right to vote of the Moldovans living in Russia would have not been hindered, and if the Government did not do this purposely.
