Clippings
[edit]Both Newspaperarchive.com and The Wikipedia Library would prefer that articles citing Newspaperarchive.com link to clippings. Clippings allow Newspaperarchive.com subscriber-editors to identify particular articles, extract them from the original full sheet newspaper and share them through unique URLs. Thus readers who click on a Newspaperarchive.com Clipping links will be able to access that particular article without needing to subscribe to Newspaperarchive.com. Clippings can be deleted by the user who created the clipping, but otherwise remain permanently open access, even when user accounts expire.
To clip an article, an account will need to be created on Newspapersarchive.com. Be aware that clipped articles will be associated with your newspaperarchive.com username and that it might then be fairly easy to connect your newspaperarchive.com username to your WP username. To avoid this, create a separate email account.

- Find the clipped article. Note that there might be a delay of a few minutes before a recently clipped article is visible.
- Click on clipped article and copy the URL in the browser window.
- When using the URL of the clipped article in a Wikipedia article, is a best practice to replace "https://access-newspaperarchive-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org" with "https://newspaperarchive.org" However, a bot will probably eventually fix it.
Note that if you download a PDF of the clipped article, then the URL at the bottom might be incorrect. It is best to use the URL from the clipping found via the My Account -> Favorite Pages.
