[edit]From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (ʾp̄lyšwm,ʾp̄lyšm /abrēšom/, “silk”), from Proto-Iranian *upawraišamah. Compare Luri ۏریشںم (örişəm) and Old Armenian loanword ապրիշում (aprišum, “silk”).
