This one has a pearfect balance of dark greens and gold. #green #gold... | By MollysArtistry | This is take number two at the horizontal green swipe. I did one a while back and I really did like it but it was for a client and she wanted a little bit less gold and lots more green and so that is the edit that I made to the painting and while it still does have some gold and some turquoise, I really tried to make the Thalo green sap green and the emerald green. Kind of the star of the show and I had lots of pearl green on top as well to give it some shimmer with the gold. I really liked how this one came out and you could definitely see a difference. It was much darker in the green color and really was much more balanced than the first one that I had made. That one's on my channel as well if you have seen that on my page. Now, I'm coming in with the pearl green color and again, not trying to go too heavy on any one color. Really trying to get a good balance and a good blend of them all. Alright, so here we go tilting it off and on these horizontal paintings where I'm not stretching the swipe out too much. I really like to stretch it to the sides and get good side coverage and you can see I even painted my sides green as well before I started because there's not much tilting that happens after you do the swipes on these. So now, here we go. I love how those cells and lacing appear when you swipe through it. I tried to get the swipes pretty close to one another and I will say for this technique when you get to the edge of the canvas, it is so difficult to not lift your palette knife up and create these extra unwanted portions but you just have to keep the palette knife flowing all the way to the end of the canvas. Getting to this last little part here and I decided to use the same palette knife and just hang it a little bit over the edge and then the magic really happens as you stretch those last little parts over the edge and I really try to stretch it to the front of me and then straight back so that my lines stay pretty linear it's actually more difficult in person than it looks. I needed to turn it around so that I could keep that straight kind of linear feel and just tilt it straight back down in front of me. I had used the perfect amount of paint to get that to stretch off the canvas right and I am super happy. It is very balanced, not too much gold. For me, just the perfect amount. The dark greens dried beautifully and I love the lacing that came through in this one. So, I was really happy with the result. Horizontal swipes are fun and I hope that you can give this a try too.

8.6M views · 5.2K comments | MESMERIZING Acrylic Pour | MESMERIZING Acrylic Pour! Using an old technique to create a new GORGEOUS piece! Happy Painting! | By MollysArtistry | Hi everyone. it's Molly. This was a huge undertaking. This was 224 inch by thirty inch canvases and I was actually going back to a technique that I had not done in so long. it was using the blow dryer, but without the attachment, this was so much fun to do and it took a little bit of work to get what I want. The blow dryer is. Attachment that I use is an air concentrator and it does just that it makes the air come out in a very consistent thin flow, and with the blow dryer attachment off. it gives a very different look because it's blown out everywhere. but if you have your paints mixed right and you don't overwork it. The result can be just beautiful like it is with this. I mixed a color of green that they had wanted in their room and they sent me pictures. I love doing custom work for people even though it can be a little bit stressful because you're trying to make what's in their head come to life on a canvas, but I absolutely love it. It's so rewarding. so I'm just adding a little pops of color, a bright blue so that I can get just a little bit of contrast. I'm just adding hints here and there trying to see where I would like it to go once I blow it out and now I'm adding the magic. The white and the gold are what are going to make this piece. I was trying to take care and not pour too much white. I only wanted little splashes, but then I ended up pouring that. And I got it everywhere, but you know what it happens. you just keep going and you hope for the best. That is a culinary torch like a creme brulee torch, and I'm just getting rid of all the air bubbles that I created when I was pouring the paints out on the canvas. Now here we go and I had to turn my blow dryer on high and like I said, I didn't have the attachment there. And you'll be able to see the details if you stick around to the end of the video because looking at it this way, it doesn't look like too much. but once you get up close, the results of this one are just amazing. So if you want, please check out the end of this one to see how this one turns out. Now in the middle, I got a little bit worried because it was starting to get a little bit muddy and my paints weren't even reaching to the end of the canvas, but I thought, okay, you know what to do. We're just going to stick with this one and keep blowing. and so that's what I did. I still had to angle the dryer a bit to get it to flow in the direction that I wanted otherwise I would have had a pool of paint in the middle that possibly would have cracked. Now, I'm starting on the other one and that's the thing about doing these big pieces. is you finish one and you get a breath and then all of a sudden you realize I have to do this all over again. But it's okay. This one went a little bit better and that big white part that I blew in there, it turned out perfectly fine. So now here, I am again just trying to get some of the paint out of the middle of the canvass and drop it off the side and now I'm going in and I'm going to lay some details down a lot of people think Oh, this type of art is very quick, but a lot of paintings take me an hour maybe more to actually finish because of how much time I put into the details of them. That is a metallic gold that I added for just a little bit of contrast and I'm really glad I did. it really ended up bringing the pieces together. Wait till you see the design after I blow this out with the added gold and the white. You can see the cells forming right there and it is gorgeous. The gold and the blue mixed to give me another beautiful green color that I really liked in this painting it worked perfectly. Now, I'm starting to get excited because I can see it coming to life and it's almost done. All that work and all that planning it feels so good when it pays off to finish a commission. And I just needed to do a little bit of work in the center and there you have it. At the details, So gorgeous well, I hope you enjoyed this video. Thank you for watching happy painting.

44K views · 1K reactions | Magical Interference Paints | This one surprised me! I did not think the colors would dry this vibrant after mixing them with the darker colors. But the dried result is amazing!... | By MollysArtistry | Experimenting again with pearlescent interference colors mixed with acrylic oxide black now these colors are purple blue yellow green and I'm layering a tiny little bit of black in between each layer. I wanted to see how the colors would react with mixing a pretty good amount of blacks black into them but also layering a small bit of black between them and you can see the colors are very dark and I used a primed canvas here with just white gesso. In my other experiments, I had painted the canvas black as well but since the black was mixed in, I thought that the pearls would show up well without painting the canvas or having a layer of a dark color underneath. You can see how pretty the colors are in the cup and from the head view, you can really see the colors and the shimmer. That greenish color is actually the yellow when mixed with black and then what I just poured there is the true green color. Here's a little bit more of the purple. Trying to get every last little bit out of that cup. I then wanted to get all the air bubbles out and then, I really decided, you know what? I want to wreck this one. So, I am going to take my skewer and run some lines through it to get some cool designs. I know that I have a lot of purple and blue on the outside and I've got this beautiful green with purple on the inside and as I the canvas out, you're going to see all those colors start to pop up. And I show you the end result at the end of the video and I am really happy with how these colors came out. So, if you don't want to work with a dark base or have to paint your canvas a dark color before working with these interference colors. All you have to do is mix just a little bit of a dark color in with them and they will show up beautifully then as well. You can see the shimmer on top of the colors and they are a little bit more muted but just have this beautiful shimmer and shine to them and when they dry, they look just like metallics. So, here it is. You can see that beautiful shine and shimmer.

118K views · 2.2K reactions | Metallic Swipe with Beautiful Colors! | Gold, Bronze, and Copper Oh My! - I love these metallic colors! Such a subtle but stunning design. The copper dried so good! | By MollysArtistry | I wanted to do something soft and simple tonight. And that is working with metallics which I absolutely love. This color palette is very simple. It's just gold, bronze, and copper. I decided to leave out the silver and instead go with a bluish gray color. And I thought that that would add a contrast and a little bit of depth and dimension to the painting instead of using all metallics. It is a grayish blue color and a little bit of regular gray mixed together and it's just a really rich darker color and I thought that it would accent the metallics well. I chose to really make the bronze and the copper the focus of this painting and so after I poured the paints on the canvas I took my palette knife and just blended the edges together a little bit to give a softer feel. I'm just following the lines that are already there and blending the paints together just a little bit. I decided that I was going to swipe with black paint this time to give it a little bit more contrast. I just wanted to spread the paint out a little bit because on these large canvases, when you swipe with a smaller sized palette knife, the cells and the lacing can stretch out if you don't spread the paint a little bit towards the edges to begin with. Sometimes simplicity really works and you don't have to go kind of big and full with robust color and so every now and again even though I love a little bit of color in my life I tend to go with some more muted or neutral color palettes and it's always great to switch things up try new things revisit old color palettes that you may like or try new ones it's what so much fun about art. You can see how big that canvas was as I'm trying to tilt it there by myself. As I started to stretch, I could see those beautiful cells popping up. The gold had a really nice reaction and had some gorgeous cells there as well. I really like the addition of that bluish gray color. I think it really brought it together and helped it not seem so metallic. And here's the final result. It shines so pretty in the light. Your eye comes to rest on the gray parts and then finds all of the details in the swipe. I've really enjoyed making this one and this color palette can't go wrong. I hope that you enjoyed this video. I definitely enjoyed making this painting and I love seeing it shine in the light. Happy painting.

371K views · 7.4K reactions | Acrylic pour dip - easy and fun technique | I live doing dips with leftover pour paint but you can also do a more intentional dip, which I did in this video. I was going for spring flowers, how'd I do? | By Mixed Media Girl | Hey, guys. Mixed Media Girl here. So today, I'm going to be doing an acrylic pour dip. Now, there are a few ways that you can do this. One of the most common ways is to simply use the paint that is left over from a previous acrylic pour that's run off onto the table and then dip something into that but you can also do a bit of a more intentional dip which is what I'm doing today and I'm going to create a design on my paper here and then dip the canvas in it. So, I've put down par paper and that is just to have a surface that I can actually use later on. I can peel the paint off after I'm done with my dip and after the paint has dried and I can use that in other projects such as jewelry, magnets, bookmarks, etcetera. You could also use plastic. You can use bubble wrap. You can use quite a few things. Now, I'm going for a very spring-like picture here. So, I put down a whole bunch of greens and made it in kind of a grassy design and now, I'm just putting down a bunch of fun, bright colors that will kind of emulate flowers once the dip is done. You can use any colors you want, put it in any order you want, totally up to you, just have fun with it. All the paints here are Mixed Media Girl pouring paints and I'm just using a ton of fun colors. Now, once you're done with your design, take your canvas and gently press it down a the paint. Go ahead and lightly press down on the entire canvas. You don't need to use a lot of force but you want to do your best to make sure that you get full coverage on the canvas and don't miss any spots but you can always dip again another time if you need to. Now, what direction you pull it up really makes a difference in how your piece comes out. I want this to be of vertical design rather than horizontal so I'm pulling it straight up now I did miss a bit on the top of the canvas no big deal you can go ahead and just redip I want it to be a little more blended anyways so I had already planned on probably dipping it twice so now I'm going to just make sure that that area hopefully gets fully covered there we go alright so it's mostly covered if you still miss the spot just go ahead and take a little additional paint and kind of tap it out to fill that in but I think this looks gorgeous. Let's do a close up here. So I think this is just such a fun and bright springy piece. The dip is a really really easy technique. You can really create any kind of pattern that you want. But I love this look. And this can be a piece by itself or you can go ahead and embellish it with some spring flowers or really whatever you want. Just have fun with it. And this you can see is the paint that's left over on the parchment paper so that can be used for a ton of other projects and that will be super fun in itself. Hope you enjoyed this. See you next time.
