2.7M views · 1K comments | Fried Shrimp | Fried Shrimp! Yes Please. 👊🏻 Music by Horace Trahan | By The Cajun Ninja | Stick around ladies and gentlemen cuz we're about to knock out fried shrimp. Alright, ladies and gentlemen time to get started. So first off to the side here, I've got two tablespoons of hot sauce and two tablespoons of mustard and to my left two pounds of Louisiana Gulf shrimp Oh boy that looks good. So as you guys can see the shrimp have been peeled and so at this point, I'm gonna go ahead and add this mustard and hot sauce maple here and I'm gonna mix that in thoroughly. And voila, so we're gonna go ahead and move this to the fridge and let it marinate for about 30 minutes. At this point, you wanna get your oil heated on roughly a medium low heat so that way you can gradually get to about 425° in this pot here I have roughly a gallon, but it'll vary depending on the pot you use time to get heated up. Okay, ladies and gentlemen back at the prepping area, We're gonna get started concocting our butter for our shrimp. So what we have here is two cups of plain white flour and to this we are going to add two tablespoons of Cajun or creole seasoning, one half tablespoon of salt and one half tablespoon of garlic powder. So just to let you guys know most Cajun Creole seasonings will have garlic powder and salt in them. We went ahead and added garlic. And salt on its own here so that we can enhance those two flavors without enhancing more spice. Now you could choose to do otherwise. I mean the choice is yours on what you wanna do to your food, but that's what I'm doing right here and I'm gonna go ahead and blend this together and there you go. We have our seasoned flour so it's good to come. Check your oil to make sure it's not getting too fired up here. I've got this little thermometer gun. If you guys seen many of these or even bought one now you have good use for it. This one here has a laser pointer so that way I can see what my temperature is and I'm at about 305° nine. It's getting there doing well. We want to get to about 425. so we're just gonna let it keep heating up. Okay. So I've pulled my shrimp from the fridge and off to the side here. I have two scrambled eggs gonna pour that in and then mix it around. And there we go. Just gonna go ahead and check this real quick so we got almost 390. alright. so I'm gonna go ahead and increase the heat just a tad here that way it will be getting right where I want it, but it's okay in the beginning to keep it at a low heat so that you can do everything else and then the oil can get here slowly. but when you're ready to fry, go ahead and get it there that way as soon as you batter them. shrimp, you can just drop em in. you also wanna make sure your basket is in there too. because if you throw your shrimp into a dry basket and then put that basket in the fryer, the shrimp might stick to the back. So just get your basket in there with the grease. alright, let's check this. Oh yeah. four thirtyish. Yeah. So we're gonna go ahead and put this on the very low setting. so that way we can maintain that heat. But not get out of control. Okay. we're gonna go ahead and batter the shrimp so I like to grab a handful at a time so that way I can let some of the drippings kinda run out a little bit and just kinda we're falling out this side. We're just gonna drop a few in there and it's alright. if you see some little long pieces of egg in there, it's all gonna get shaken up, but yeah, we're gonna just get this all up in here. And then we will shake it around. It's okay to kinda shake this right here. So that way we can throw the rest on top. There we go alright, we're gonna put our. Little sifter part in the middle, it's from the top many of you guys can ask where you get this shake it up. So if you go to my uh Facebook page, there's actually a couple different automated questions you can ask one of them is where do you get that pot and it will show you all that link will show you all the things I like to use in my kitchen, including this little batter box right here, but Imma tell you one thing. I don't really care for this is it doesn't snap on so they got some ones out there that snap on work a lot better to take that. You flip it over boom. shake it up. shake it up. shake it up. And all the shrimp are battered there. you go. alright. so we're gonna go ahead and check the temperature here. One more time looking like it's on at 430 range, which is fine. You wanna be at least close to that 425. If you're about 5° over that is okay. So let's go ahead and drop the shrimp in. Oh, no, we have ourselves a casualty a moment please ladies and gentlemen for our fallen shrimp. I Amen now get back in there, I mean come on guys. It's gonna fry 400°. it just does that thing up and let it cook. Alright. It'll be okay. This ain't no restaurant now if you had a restaurant throw that thing away now with that being said, we are going to cook this for 2 minutes. Alright. that's all you gotta do fried up for 2 minutes. We're at a very high temperature. It's gonna get the butter crispy quickly and it's also gonna cook the shrimp to a very tender tender bite. So like I said. Let this cook for 2 minutes. Awesome and there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, that is golden deliciousness right there. so let the excess oil drip and then pour these bad boys into a layer of paper towels. Ladies and gentlemen, some fresh fried shrimp If you wanna sprinkle a little bit of salt on the top right when you take em out the fryer, you can give a little more flavor on the outside, but I like em just like this, let's go ahead and get it. Smells so good, This isn't all we're eating. I got some French fries frying up out there, but I thought why not just get this over with give you guys a tasting and uh get on with life. Oh man. look at. Look at this beautiful crispy fried shrimp. Looks so good. Let me tell you 2 minutes. That's it. they're fully done If you cook them any longer. They'll get a little tougher. I mean they're still be good, but they're a little tougher. just those couple minutes frying and then high temperature. Oh my mouth is watering. It brings you to that perfect like crispiness and you know good tender Vita shrimp. It's all good. Mm, Money. Well, that is a wrap ladies and gentlemen, we have knocked out fried shrimp and it is delicious. Take that make some po boys make your shrimp on a bun or just eat it. As is I think you'll enjoy it well look guys as always. Thank you so much for tuning in. I appreciate all of you and I'll see you soon. And down.
