This feature adds a symbol tag to values in arrays, which is used to automatically track those values as they move around in the array. It's one way of achieving array tracking without a lot of overhead or configuration. Primitive values can't be patched like this, and are still tracked by index.

Structure this as a fn that returns identity rather than directly using identitySymbol.
