Rill is advertised as open source and the license file here is apache, but the readme ends with a note about accepting additional terms - upfront. This is whenever we download an open source apache project. Is this compatible with the apache license and open source definition?

Even so, I don't think it's a good user experience. Would it be better to present the terms for the features where they become needed? It might make behavior (about remote processing or comms) a bit more transparent?

Are there other notices that I'm missing (because I haven't used rill), that make this suggestion redundant?

I would like to try rill, but if I accept terms I'd like to understand how it will behave with my data.
