Oscar of Astora Oscar was likely a high-ranking knight from Astora, who was determined to seek out Lordran once he turned Undead. Exactly how he ended up in the Undead Asylum and why he rescues the player is unknown; no other characters make mention of him. After dropping the key down to the Chosen Undead, Oscar was likely fighting the Asylum Demon on the roof, which defeated him and smashed him into the room where the Chosen Undead runs into later in the Undead Asylum.
