Commonwealth Fusion Systems is a MITEI Startup Member and is collaborating with MIT to provide limitless, clean energy to the world through commercial fusion. Their new headquarters in Devens, Massachusetts brings them one-step closer to scaling up their technologies and achieving this goal.

Seeking an entrepreneur-in-residence (venture builder) for the Proto Ventures office. Will be based at MIT’s Plasma Science and Fusion Center and work across the entire MIT ecosystem.

The MIT Energy Initiative is now accepting applications from graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to receive funding as a named 2023-2024 Energy Fellow. Faculty members can also nominate graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, in recognition of keen interest in energy and excellence in research. Nominees may then complete the full application by Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Solar energy radiates approximately 1,000 watts per meter squared at sea level. During the 20th century, Mária Telkes—biophysicist, inventor, and MIT professor—harnessed this energy and invented the first successful solar ovens, solar heating systems, and solar water distilling system, earning herself the name “Sun Queen.”
