Save the date for the MIT 24-Hour Challenge on Tuesday, March 14!
The MIT 24-Hour Challenge is returning this Pi Day, and MITEI will be holding a special microchallenge!
The Challenge: If 50 donors make gifts of any size to the MIT Energy Initiative Fund, Bill Vanderson ’99 MNG ’00 & Christina Gehrke ’99 will donate $5,000. If 50 more donors make gifts, the alumni will contribute another $5,000.
Your impact: Support from generous friends like you during the MIT 24-Hour Challenge will help MITEI:
- accelerate commercialization of new no- and low-carbon technologies from MIT labs to the market,
- educate future thinkers and doers who will transform our future energy systems, and
- help create clean, stable sources of energy for those who so urgently need them.

MITEI Energy Fellowship
Applications due: Wednesday, March 22
The MIT Energy Initiative is now accepting applications from graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to receive funding as a named 2023-2024 Energy Fellow. Faculty members can also nominate graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, in recognition of keen interest in energy and excellence in research. Nominees may then complete the full application.

MIT Solve's 2023 Global Challenges
Applications due: Tuesday, May 9 at 11:59pm ET
MIT Solve’s Global Challenges seek social entrepreneurs who are using technology to solve today’s most pressing problems. This year's challenges are financial inclusion, health in fragile contexts, learning for civic action, and climate adaptation and low-carbon housing. As part of the Global Challenges, Solve is also opening applications for the sixth annual Indigenous Communities Fellowship, which looks for Indigenous innovators in the U.S. and Canada.
