Literally DC's version of the grim reaper, Nekron is the undisputed leader/founder of the Black Lantern Corp (Some would say Black Hand is the leader and I don't deny that Hand isn't insane but i mean look at this guy^). Anyway, Nekron is the Lord of the Unliving and during the Blackest Night it was found that he was the mastermind behind the Black Lantern Corp after all.
