The other species of cicada I saw on Barro Colorado island, Panama. When newly metamorphosed it is similar in appearance to the first species, but there are a few differences like eye colr, size, body hair, head shape, etc... This species maintains prettier colors afterwards in comparison to the duller tones on the first species.

Colorful caterpillar found this week in the atlantic forest (southeastern Brazil) - I'm still clueless about it's identification, it's been many months since I saw one with such striking colors.
