The water tower was painted in 2019 by artist Cam Scale. Deniliquin is home to over 100 species of bird life and is a renowned birding destination. Says the artist: "I chose the kookaburra so I could express the spectacular detail in its feathers, the flecks of turquoise and white are beautiful, and there are a lot of interesting textures and patterns which will look stunning painted”.

The Lameroo Silos were completed in April 2024. The artwork is a powerful expression of Lameroo’s history and the pioneering farmers, who paved the way with their perseverance and resilience.

We decided to drive from Tanunda to Bordertown and then to stay in Bordertown for two nights. On our way we drove through Coonalpyn and spotted the silos by the side of the road so we pulled over to stretch out legs and take a look at the art work. I have seen a few painted silos now but this must be one of the most striking art works, it still intrigues me how the artists work on such large canvases.
