Thank you for your interest in the Beckman Scholars Program.  Please review the information below regarding eligibility, timelines, and application materials.

REQUIRED CRITERIA FOR APPLICANTS

 

  • Scholars must be full-time students and remain in good academic standing, intending to pursue an advanced science degree or other scientific pursuits.

  • Beckman Scholars must be citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients of the United States or its possessions.

  • Scholars will pursue their independent research project under the auspices of an approved full-time faculty Mentor, as identified in the application.

  • Must commit to the full 15-month continuous research program from May 2024 through August 2025

    • 10-weeks during summer 2024 and summer 2025 at 40-hours per week

    • 10-hours per week during fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters

    • Attend the Beckman Scholars Annual Conference in August 2024 and present in August 2025

 

TIMELINE

 

  • November 13, 2024: Beckman Info Session at 5 p.m. via Zoom (Register here)

  • November 15, 2024: Application opens

  • February 1, 2025: Application deadline at 12:00 p.m. EST

  • March 25, 2025: Beckman Finalists notified

  • April 10, 2025: Beckman Scholars announced

  • May 2025: The Beckman Scholars Program begins

  • July 8, 2025: Scholar Midsummer report due

  • August 2025: Annual Beckman Symposium

  • August 31, 2025: Summer Research Symposium

  • April 2026: Showcase of Undergraduate Scholars
