The journey to acquire it is more than a little harrowing. The owner of the junk shop, Mrs. Severýnová, has no idea about the value of the carpet and so she uses it as a bed for her female dog Amina. The noble Dr. Vitasek eventually gets involved with a burglar because of his passion. / In 'Tales of a Marriage Swindler', Inspector Holub searches for a previously unknown and elusive man who has swindled tens of thousands of crowns from lonely elderly women. What is his surprise when, after some time, he tracks down a well-known firm, the former lottery ticket swindler Mr. Plichta. He had to acquire five gold teeth after his prison term, which made him look attractive and trustworthy to the old ladies. And so he began to put his newfound ability to good use.
