Enter the low-down politician, who, as he cannot bribe the policeman, determines to "break" him with the aid of a grafting "cop.'' Then a "protected" dive which the policeman finds in full blast. As he will not keep silence, perjured witnesses have him dismissed. The girl, wise to such business, goes to the dive, sees the "dough" passed to the "cop" traitor acting for "the man higher up." She loses her life but her friend gets his shield back. A sequence of affairs, as enacted in the "Tenderloins" with which the dwellers in great cities know only too well. Written by
