She is an unproductive, out of work actress/waitress in New York City who envisions herself to be a big celebrity and star and can't figure out why, after 2 months out of school, her big break hasn't come yet. Shirley has no idea how to play the game in the acting and auditioning world, and isn't very good at doing the hard work that is required to be the kind of Hannah Montana Celeb she thinks of herself as. But she is a lovable and charming girl, with the best of intentions. Shirley may actually have what it takes to make it, but she is all too consumed with the likes of E! Entertainment news programs, and can't quite understand why she is not part of the featured story. The answer is clear to everyone except Shirley: hard work and talent.
