The film was shot and produced over 7 years-with the documentary filmmakers immersing themselves into the same environment as the Graduate Studies Program students in their intensive 10-week summer program. It tells the story of the students, the faculty, and how Singularity University inspires students to confront the crucial issues affecting the future of our species-and create startups to address these topics. "The University" follows the students as they are given a fearsome challenge: create companies that will impact a billion people within ten years. It is a way to push the students to create something bolder than simply the next social networking app. See less
