She lowered it by removing the top board and sawing off the legs, saving enough legs to attach the floor cover. She than arranged the dresser on the wall and secured it to the floor for stability. Added a 19mm MDF surface and built a staircase/bookshelf using MDF. The fence was made from 45x45 rules split to 45x30 for a better look. They used 21mm round rods as pegs. As a last step they primed with @beckersfarg New Twig & Barrier Base and painted everything with their carpentry color Mood (0502-Y). The mattress, a 90x200 foam one, was trimmed to 156cm. Connie picked up this IKEA nightstand only to decide a month later that it wasn’t her cup of tea. But rather than send it to the landfill, she found an easy and cheap way to customize this piece and make it work for her space. This nightstand was just too plain and too low for Connie’s bed, so she added some legs to boost the height and jazzed up the drawer fronts with some grasscloth for texture and interest.
