Grow your own mushrooms on Friday, 10/25 at 5 PM at Thomas Poe Cooper lawn. Food will be provided, but bring your own carving tools.

The UK Department of Agricultural Economics and UK MANNRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences) are hosting their Fall 2024 Agribusiness & Industry Career Fair on Wednesday, September 18 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM in Ag Science Center North.

All interested students are welcome to connect with employers seeking a variety of talent across America's $1 trillion industry.

2024 Design Career Fair
The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment's Department of Landscape Architecture is collaborating with the College of Design to host the 2024 Design Career Fair. On Friday, February 23, we will welcome nearly 60 firms from 12 states to the Gatton Student Center Ballroom. The fair runs from 9am to 3pm. All are welcome to attend.

Student Organizations

Martin-Gatton CAFE is seeking student ambassadors for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Student Ambassador program is a select group of undergraduate leaders who model and tell the story of our college, its mission and programs, as well as the University of Kentucky. Approximately 30 ambassadors will be selected next year. Ambassadors are expected to serve one full year and must reapply should they wish to continue for subsequent years.

  • The UK Counseling Center is hosting a Test Anxiety Workshop on Wednesday, February 8 at noon in the Ag North Wellness room (N24). Attendees will learn how to reduce their stress around exams and improve their academic performance.

  • On Wednesday, April 6 from 10:00 am till 5:00 pm EST, CareerEco will be hosting a career fair that features 29 SEC and ACC universities. This is a time for students and alumni to meet employers live online. All majors and degrees are welcome to join. Click here for more information.

Career Development

  • Students with all majors are invited to meet many employers on Tuesday, February 15 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm looking to hire University of Kentucky students for full-time, part-time, internship, co-op, and other types of roles. We encourage you to come in professional dress and bring multiple copies of your resume. Register for the fair via Handshake to learn more about employers planning to attend these fairs.

  • The University of Kentucky Counseling Center is hosting a workshop on Thursday (12/2) at 1:00 pm for students who prepare well for class exams but consistently receive low test scores.   • On Tuesday, November 23 from 9:00 to 10:15 am Job Club will be having a meeting to discuss ideas for success in interviewing for jobs, ideas for improving your resume, and suggestions for advancing your career. The Job Club meeting presentation will be made by Karen Hill, Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer Emeritus, Baptist Health Lexington.   • Monday, October 25 is the Midterm of the Fall 2022 semester. Now is an ideal time for students to evaluate their performance, seek tutoring resources if needed and/or chat about goals and improvements with their academic advisor.

  • Applications for the 2021 Lead Blue Awards are open now through Wednesday, March 31. Lead Blue recognizes student organizations and leaders for their hard work and dedication to involvement and leadership at UK. Organizations and student leaders can self-nominate or be nominated.   • The last day to add a Spring 2021 course is Friday, January 29. Students should speak with their advisor before making changes. 
  • Outstanding sophomores are encouraged to apply for the UK Gaines Fellowship. Benefits include an annual stipend, service projects, travel opportunites and more. The application deadline is February 8. Click here for details
