Hello Adam,
I understand you and Malone University would like to set-up a data feed using
Unidata's LDM/IDD technology.
First, you will need to install the LDM software on a *NIX machine,..or if a
*NIX machine is not available to you it can be run in a virtual machine (VM)
supporting a
*NIX environment.
To access the home page for the software please visit:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/ldm/
You can follow the links on that page for download, or visit this page to
download the software:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/ldm/index.jsp
NOTE- You will need to register at our site to be able to download (just an
e-mail address and name, super easy)
Do you know what data you will desire to be sent to you?
I know many ornithologists are using the RADAR data to track bird migration.
A set of the available feedtypes are located here:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/ldm/ldm-current/basics/feedtypes/
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions, we are here to support your
efforts.
We can even install the LDM for you if desired.
Please let us know when you have the LDM installed and a notion of what data
you will want to be "fed" to you and we will move forward with
assigning an upstream site for you to feed from...or if you encounter any
issues with the install process, please let us know.
Cheers and welcome aboard!
