20000121: gribdec.k decoding of RUC-2 grids

I found it, and I'm having trouble decoding it. Have you ever tried
decoding those gribs yourself?

My trouble is that everything appears to work fine, :

 windfall: /q5/usr/mccode $ gribdec.k ruc2.T18Z.pgrbanl 5000
 GRIB messages found: 309
 gribdec.k: done

but then no GRID file gets written. I've checked the LWPATH.NAM file very
carefully, and there's no problem there. I'll include it anyway:

 9605* /q0/NARE97_ETA_GRIB_NEW/9605_3Danal
 96* /q0/NARE97_ETA_GRIB_NEW/9604_3Danal
 97* /q0/NARE97_ETA_GRIB_NEW/9710_3Danal
 99* /q7/crazyh3
 GRID3* /q7/crazyh3
 GRID5* /q5/usr/mccode
 GRID8* /q0/NARE97_ETA_TEMP
 eta99032600 /q5/usr/mccode
 gb14* /q5/usr/mccode
 grib1412 /q5/usr/mccode
 gribYAA /q5/usr/mccode
 ruc2* /q5/usr/mccode

I'm in no rush on this one, and I'm a little embarrassed for jumping in
front of the line on my last help message, so I won't mind if you give
this one low priority. Thanks.

Tony,

Yes, we decode these grids continuously into Gempak and NetCDF
formats- but since your question is specific to McIDAS,
I'll defer your question to Tom for that package - but
wanted to refer Tom to the previous discussion we had at:
