Unidata McIDAS-X Users:

The Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison is seeking input from McIDAS User Group (MUG) members
and the Unidata McIDAS user community on how McIDAS is currently being
used. Your input on what you feel is important functionality will be
used in planning future McIDAS development.

The SSEC survey on McIDAS use can be found at:

http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/mcidas-v/survey.html

Most users should be able to point-and-click their way through the
survey in a few minutes. The survey will, however, take longer for
sites with locally developed code.

Please complete this survey by the end of May. Please feel free to
forward this email on to anyone that is a McIDAS user or developer at
your site.

If you have comments that fall outside the scope of the survey, please
send them along to Unidata User Support <address@hidden> so
we can forward them to SSEC. One area that comes to mind that you may
want to comment on is your use of McIDAS-XCD in decoding real time IDD
data into McIDAS compatible forms.

After the SSEC compiles the information gathered from their survey,
they will be looking for longer-term commitment from several McIDAS
users to participate in evaluations of a next generation McIDAS,
McIDAS-V, that will be Java-based.

The time you spend participating in the survey is most appreciated.

Cheers,

Tom Yoksas
