The operative log message is:

Aug 10 16:30:38 noaapxcd pqact[19201] ERROR: Couldn't exec(xcd_run): No such
file or directory

The instructions for running McIDAS-XCD from the LDM include copying 'xcd_run'
from the
McIDAS bin directory to a directory in the PATH of the user running the LDM
(typically
user 'ldm'), and then reviewing the contents of the copy of 'xcd_run' you just
made
and adjusting anything needed in it. Did you do this?

re:

Is either of the following possible:

- you did copy 'xcd_run' to a directory in the PATH of the user 'ldm', but
that directory is on an automounted filesystem that is dismounted after
  a certain amount of time?

- you did not copy 'xcd_run to a directory in the PATH of the user 'ldm'
choosing instead to run it from a McIDAS directory, and the McIDAS
installation is on an automounted file system that gets dismounted
after a certain amount of time?

Cheers,

Tom
