[McIDAS #KKB-703376]: Problem with misaligned highlighted borders on high resolution GOES images

Hi João,

Sorry for not getting back to the problem you reported before now!

I put together a test I could run repeatedly here, and have verified
that there is a limit to the size of a frame in which a displayed
image can correctly be overlaid by maps. Through trial and error,
I found that the largest frame size I can use in my test is 4715x4715.
I thought I understood how this limit could be worked around (by
changing some array sizes in McIDAS code), but I have not been able
to get this to work.

For reference, the test I have been using is:

(in a local copy of mcrun.sh):

mcenv -f 1@4715x4715 << EOF

  imgdisp.k MYDATA/IMAGES.3001 LAT=0 70 MAG=-2
  map.k FILE=OUTBRAZILST MCOL=8
  map.k FILE=OUTVHPOL MCOL=1
  frmsave.k 1 GoesEastFullDiskVisibleMap_20130711_1745.gif FORM=GIF
  exit

EOF

My image, MYDATA/IMAGES.3001, is a GOES-East full disk vis image:

I have attached the GIF image created
(GoesEastFullDiskVisibleMap_20130711_1745.gif)
to this email so you can take a look.

I will get in touch with the developers at SSEC to see if they have
a better handle on how to modify code to allow for larger images.

Cheers,

Tom
